I am really new is this for me?
Yes! This course is perfect for people who are new to Liberty Horsemanship and Positive Reinforcement Training who want to get started playing with their horse without pressure, force, or restraints.
I have been doing this for a while, will I get anything from this course?
If you are honing your positive reinforcement skills and want some guidance ironing out the kinks or clearing up your communication, then yes! You will still learn a lot from this course and probably get some new perspectives and tips to add to your knowledge. If you feel you have mastered +R and are looking for new ways to incorporate it into riding and very advanced tricks, we also plan to offer more advanced courses in the near future.
Is this safe to do at home without supervision?
Yes! But like with all things with horses, you must be the judge of your horse and your comfort in any given moment. We always advise that you follow your intuition and prioritize your comfort & safety in every situation. As we explain and demonstrate in the course, if you are ever feeling overwhelmed by a horse or her energy, take a step back, work from outside the arena, or slow things down until you feel comfortable. In this course we give you the tools to put safety first. We believe that a strong relationship between horse and human makes for a safer situation, and that getting in touch with what feels “good” to you in every circumstance and honoring that boundary is key to a safe time with horses. When in doubt, always listen to your comfort, take a break, and reassess the situation when it feels right.
I would rather take in person, do you offer in person trainings?
It is likely that in 2021 we will be hosting small, in-person workshops once it is safer to meet in socially-distanced groups! The dates are still to be determined.
